Khelaghor defeats Abahani by 8 runs
Khelaghor Samaj Kallyan Samity beat Abahani by 8 runs in the fourth round match of Dhaka Premier League (DPL) on Monday. After winning three matches in a row, Mushfiqur Rahim's team tasted defeat for the first time. On the other hand, this is the second win for Khelaghor.
Batting first in this match, Khelaghor lost 6 wickets in 20 overs and scored 164 runs. In reply, Abahani lost 5 wickets and stopped at 156 runs. Chasing the medium target, Abahani lost Munim Shahriar's (0) wicket at the beginning. Captain Mushfiqur Rahim (8) also returned quickly. Naim Sheikh played an innings of 49 runs off 42 balls. After the return of this opener, Nazmul Hossain Shanto pulled the innings of Abahani. He made 49 off 33 balls. In the end, Mosaddek Hossain was unbeaten on 21 and Afif Hossain on 22 but the team could not win.
Rony Chowdhury and Khaled Ahmed took 2 wickets each for Khelaghor. Rafsan Al Mahmood got a wicket. Earlier, Imtiaz Hossain and Rafsan started decently after electing to bat. Rafsan returned with 18 runs but Imtiaz picked up a half century. He returned with 66 runs off 46 balls. Mehedi Hasan Miraz made 33 off 25 balls in one down. And the medium capital of the party is ensured. In the end, however, Zahurul Islam (5), Moinul Islam (6) and Salman Hossain (13) could not increase the run. Arafat Sunny and Mosaddeq Hossain took two wickets each for Abahani. Besides, Mohammad Saifuddin and Tanjim Shakib took one wicket each.
