Khaleda returns home

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia returned home on Saturday evening from the capital’s Evercare Hospital after a long treatment for Covid infections and other physical complications.

“The medical board has decided to discharge Madam (Khaleda) from the hospital as her condition improved,” said the BNP chief’s personal physician Dr Mohammad Al Mamun.

He said Khaleda left the hospital for her Gulshan residence in the evening.

Mamun said Khaleda’s medical team members will provide her treatment at her residence for her underlying health complications.

The 10-member medical board formed for Khaleda Zia’s treatment has decided to take her back home to keep her away from various infections (cross infections) as she is recovering.

The BNP chief has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital since April 27 after being infected with coronavirus. She was taken to CCU on May 3 due to breathing problem.

Later, she was transferred to cabin on June 3 as her health condition improved.
