The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) will deliver its judgment against defeated autocrat Sheikh Hasina and top leaders of the ousted Awami League for their involvement in the July genocide cases by October this year.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Asif Nazrul said this during a press conference held at his secretariat office in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The prosecutors have so far lodged a total of 16 cases against Hasina and several top Awami League leaders for their involvement in human rights violations and genocide.
The investigation of four cases out of the 16 will end in the current month and the trial procedures will formally begin on completion of the necessary verification, he said, adding that some top-ranking police officials are also among them.
