Islamic Arabic University received another 181 crore rupees
The project to establish an Islamic Arabic University in Keraniganj, near Dhaka, was passed earlier in the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting. Initially, the main cost of the project was estimated at Tk 413 crore 75 lakh. Received another 181 crore rupees. As a result, the total cost of the project stood at 595 crore 63 lakh taka.
According to the Planning Commission, this expenditure was approved in the Eknek meeting. The project was supposed to be implemented from July 2017 to June 2021, but it was extended to December 2026.
The 'Islamic Arabic University' project is being implemented in Ghatachar and Madhyachar of Keraniganj Upazila of Dhaka. Where around 17 acres of land, three acres of land has been allocated for the Arabic language institute with the grant of the Saudi government. The project is being implemented by the Directorate of Education Engineering.
Those involved in the project say that if the project is implemented, the madrasa education system will be modernized in coordination with modern education. Madrasa education will create more skilled and technologically knowledgeable manpower. Along with general education degree holders, Madrasa education degree holders can also participate and succeed in the competitive examination.
According to the objective of the project, the Islamic Arabic University is being established for the development, modernization of the madrasa education system and proper management of all Fazil and Kamil madrasa education programs in the country. The necessary physical infrastructure will be established to create a permanent campus for the overall operation of the university. Curriculum and syllabus for Fazil (undergraduate) and Kamil (postgraduate) levels will be developed.
In addition, there will be quality improvement of education, training to increase the qualifications and skills of teachers and students. Students and teachers studying and teaching in madrasas will be educated in modern education to become skilled manpower inside and outside the country.
At the same time, residential facilities will be provided for madrasa teachers and students and officials-employees who come to the university for training under this project.
