Indefinite curfew from 6 pm today
A curfew has been enforced from 6 pm till further notice on Sunday due to clashes across the country. This decision will be effective for all divisional headquarters, city corporation, municipality, industrial area, district and upazila headquarters including Dhaka.

It was earlier decided last night that the curfew will continue till further orders. However, curfew will be relaxed from 6 am to 9 pm in Dhaka city, Dhaka district, Gazipur city and Gazipur district and Narsingdi and Narayanganj from today. And in the case of other districts, the Deputy Commissioner will discuss with the concerned and decide on the relaxation of curfew. Now curfew has been enforced from 6 pm today in almost the entire country except rural areas.
On July 19, the government imposed a curfew across the country due to the situation surrounding the movement demanding reform of quota in government jobs. First, the curfew started from 12:00 PM on that day. Later, the curfew is being relaxed in different areas.
Yesterday, the anti-discrimination student movement announced a one-point demand for the resignation of the government. They have called for non-cooperation movement from today. Clashes have taken place in various areas of the country including Dhaka. So far 27 people have lost their lives in these incidents.
