Hopfield and Hinton won the Nobel Prize in Physics


This year's Nobel Prize in Physics was won by John J. Hopfield and Geoffrey E. Hinton.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the names of this year's Nobel laureates in physics from Stockholm, Sweden, on Tuesday afternoon.

These Nobel-winning scientists will receive a Nobel medal, a certificate and one million Swedish krona. Its monetary value in Bangladeshi currency is about 12 crore 80 lakh taka. In categories where there are multiple Nobel laureates, this amount will be divided equally.

As always, no information about the Nobel Prize nominees or the shortlist was given before the announcement. The entire process was carried out with utmost secrecy by the Nobel Committee. The names of the Nobel Prize winners in various categories will be announced by October 14.

The Nobel laureates are announced every year on the first Monday of October. According to the information on the Nobel Prize website, the name of the Nobel Prize winner will be announced on October 7 in Medicine, October 8 in Physics, October 9 in Chemistry, October 10 in Literature, and October 11 in the most interesting prize, Peace. In addition, the Nobel Prize announcement will officially end on October 14 with the announcement of the winner in economics.
