Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin assured that the government is fully prepared to conduct national elections.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin assured that the government is fully prepared to conduct national elections.

He emphasised that the focus at this moment is solely on the national elections, with no plans to address local government elections before then.

He made these remarks while speaking to the media at his Nirbachan Bhaban office in Dhaka's Agargaon on Tuesday.

During his Victory Day speech, Chief Adviser Prof Yunus mentioned a potential timeline for the national elections, stating that they would be held either by the end of next year or in the first half of 2026. In response to this, the CEC confirmed, "We have been working towards the national elections from day one. All necessary preparations have been made, and we are ready to conduct the elections as per the timeline outlined by the Honorable Chief Adviser."
