Golden Jubilee of Independence celebrated across country
The golden jubilee of Independence and National Day-2021 was celebrated across the country on Friday in a befitting manner and with a fresh vow to build a happy, prosperous and peaceful Bangladesh.
In Khulna, different organisations including Khulna District Administration celebrated the golden jubilee of Independence and National Day pledging to establish a non-communal prosperous and developed Bangladesh with the spirit of Liberation War.
Marking the day, Khulna District Administration organised elaborate programmes which begun with 31-gun salute after the dawn at Khulna Collectorate Building premises in the city.
National flags were hoisted atop all public and private buildings and floral wreaths were placed by the people of all walks of life at the Gallyamary martyrdom memorial here.
Khulna City and District Muktijoddha (Freedom Fighters) Command Council, State Minister for Employment and Labour Begum Monnujan Sufian, Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque, Khulna Divisional Commissioner, Khulna Police Commissioner, Khulna Range DIG of Police, Khulna District Administration, Zila Parishad, City and District Units of Awami League, Educational Institutions and socio-cultural organisations placed floral wreaths at the Gallyamari martyrdom memorial at dawn. Khulna Divisional Commissioner Ismail Hossain hoisted the national flag at Khulna Circuit House premises and took salute from the parade.
Special prayers were offered at mosques, temples, churches and other religious institutions, seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of the country.
Improved diet has been served at all hospitals, orphanage centers and jail to mark the day.
State-run Khulna Betar broadcasted special programmes while the local newspapers brought out special supplements on the occasion.
Khulna BISIC started two days handicraft fair at its office premises marking the day.
Besides, Khulna city and district units of Awami League observed the day through different programmes like hoisting of national and party flags on the party office premises and paid rich tributes to the heroic martyrs at the Gallamary martyrdom memorial.
On the occasion, a discussion was held at the party office with City AL president Talukder Abdul Khaleque in the chair. A colourful procession was brought out in the city this morning maintaining health guidelines.
Khulna Shishu Academy arranged art and essay competition for the children marking the day while Khulna Shilpakala academy also organised a discussion followed by a cultural programme.
Marking the day, exhibition on rare picture of the Liberation War and cinema was screened at Umesh Chandra Public Library and Khulna Divisional Information Office screened a documentary film show on the life sketch of
Bangabandhu at the city’s Shaheed Hadis Park and Jatisangha Shishu Park in the city.
Khulna City Corporation (KCC), Khulna WASA, West Zone Power Company Ltd, Mongla Port Authority, Khulna University, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Khulna Agricultural University and other educational institutions, Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company Ltd, Khulna Press Club, Khulna Union of Journalists (KUJ), 1971: Genocide and Tortured Archive Museum and different socio-cultural and political parties also taken similar programmes to observe the Independence Day in befitting manner.
In Gaibandha, Marking the day, district administration, various cultural organisations, political parties and educational institutions chalked out the elaborate
programmes.
The day’s programme began through placing wreaths by the district administration, police department, district Muktijodha Sangshad, district
Awami League, district BNP, Jatiya party and other political parties, district BMA, educational institutions and socio-cultural organisations at
the monument of the Poura Park of the town around 5.57 am.
The day was heralded with 31-gun salute after dawn at the Independence Square here and the national flag was hoisted atop all public and private
buildings marking the day.
Later, an impressive march past by police, ansar, VDP, BNCC, scouts, students of Government Shishu Paribars, school and colleges was held at the local stadium at 9 am.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) M. Abdus Samad and Superintendent of Police (SP) M. Masrukur Rahman Khaled took salute as the chief guest and special guest respectively.
Later, the district administration in cooperation with Zila Parishad (ZP) accorded a reception to the freedom fighters and the members of martyred families at the stadium around 11 am with DC M. Abdus Samad in the chair.
Whip of the Bangladesh Parliament and local lawmaker Mahbub Ara Begum Gini addressed the function as the chief guest while SP Towhidul Islam, chairman of Zila Parishad Ataur Rahman Sarker and former commander of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad, district unit command, Mahmudul Haque Shahjada were present as special guests.
The programmes also included children’s art and essay writing competitions on the Liberation War organised by Bangladesh Shishu Academy and documentary film also screened by the District Information Office.
On the occasion, charity football match between district administration eleven and Gaibandha Pourashabha and arrangement of sports and games for the women organised by Mohila Krira Sangstha were also held. Special prayers were offered in mosques and temples and improved diets were also served in the hospitals, jail and orphanages marking the day.
In Panchagarh, the Golden Jubilee of Independence and National Day-2021 was observed with a vow for building Sonar Bangla dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The day’s programme began with a 31-gun salute after dawn on the premises of Muktijoddha area in front of police super office. District administration, police, Awami League, Bangladesh Chhatra League and other political, socio-cultural organisations placed wreaths there. The National flag was hoisted atop all government, non-government offices marking the day.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Sabina Yeasmin, police Super Yousuf Ali, Zila Parishad chairman Anowar Sadat Samrat, Sadar upazila chairman Amirul Islam, Panchagarh Pouro Mayor Zakia Katun, Panchagarh Press Club placed wreaths at the memorial in the morning.
On the other hand, district administration gave reception to the families and heroic freedom fighters.
Special prayers were also offered seeking salvation of martyred and peace as well as prosperity of the country.
Improved diets were served in hospital, orphanages and prisons.
In Bogura the golden jubilee of Independence and National Day-2021 was celebrated with a call for building a Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Friday.
Marking the Day, district administration has chalked out daylong elaborate programmes which began through a 31-gun salute at the memorial in honour of all the heroic martyrs with the sunrise.
On the occasion, the district administration, district Awami League, police administration and various political and social organisations paid homage by placing wreaths at the martyr’s altar.
In the morning, floral wreaths were placed to pay homage at the mass graves of the martyrs.
Besides, children’s parade and displays were held at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium of the district to mark the day.
Earlier, a 150-feet long and 90-feet wide national flag was displayed at the Bogura Zila School ground at 10 am on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Independence of Bangladesh.
Deputy Commissioner Ziaul Haque inaugurated the programme while Superintendent of Police (SP) Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan was present as special guest.
District Awami League president Mojibur Rahman Majnu and general secretary Rajebul Ahsan Ripu were present, among others, on the occasion.
A reception was given to the heroic freedom fighters at 11:30 am at Bogura Zila School auditorium.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ziaul Haque addressed the programme as the chief guest.
The function was addressed, among others, by SP Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan, District Muktijoddha Sangsad Commander Ruhal Amin and Sadar Thana Commander Abdul Quader.

On the occasion of the day, the program of the day started this morning with the hoisting of the national flag with due dignity on Friday.
Marking the day, Iqbal Hossain Apu, MP, of Shariatpur-1 placing wreaths at the central Shaheed Minar and paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and heroic martyrs.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Parvez Hasan paid wreaths at the Shaheed Minar and paid homage.
Later, District Muktijoddha Command Council, Superintendent of Police SM Ashrafuzzaman, various political, social-cultural organizations paid their respects by placing wreaths at the Shaheed Minar.
In addition, receptions to the families and heroic freedom fighters of the martyred freedom fighters, homage to the graves, official hoisting of the national flag, parade and physical exercises, sports competitions of students, friendly football competitions, prize distribution, discussion meetings and cultural programs are being held.
On the occasion of the day, high quality food is served in hospitals, children’s families, prisons and orphanages.

In Mymensingh, the Golden Jubilee of Independence and National Day-2021 is being celebrated in the district with a call for building a Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Friday.
Marking the Day, district administration has chalked out day-long elaborate programme.
The day’s programme includes, quiz and essay writing competition , special prayers,distribution of improve diets, friendly football match and cultural function
The day’s programme began through a 31-gun salute on the premises of Muktijoddha memorial with sunrise. Floral wreaths were placed at Muktijoddha memorial with sun rise by the divisional, city, district, police administration, Awami league and other political, socio-cultural organizations, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and different student’s forum.
Monira Sultana Moni, MP, Divisional Commissioner Md. Kamrul Hassan, DIG Barrister Harun or Rashid, City Mayor Ekramul Haque Teto, Deputy Commissioner Enamul Haque ,Police Super Ahmaruzzaman, Zilla Parishad chairman Yusuf Khan Pathan, President of City Awami League (AL) Ehtashemul Alam, its Secretary Advocate Muazzem Hossen Babul and other political socio-cultural organisations placed wreaths at the memorial early in the morning. A colorful march past was held at 8am at Circuit house ground at 8am.
Divisional Commissioner Md. Kamrul Hassan inaugurated it through hoisting the National flag and took salute the march past.
Besides, a reception will be accorded for the freedom fighters and their family members of the martyrs.
In Barguna the Golden Jubilee of Independence and National Day was celebrated through various programs. The Barguna district administration adopted a colourful program. The day started with 31 gun salute at the martyrs’ memorial. At 8:10 am, Deputy Commissioner Habibur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Jahangir Mallik and all government, semi-government, non-government, political and social organizations laid wreaths at the Shaheed Memorial, mass grave and Mujib premises.
In Narail, the golden jubilee and national day started with 31 gun salute. Later, the national flag was hoisted at sunrise. Narail Water Development Board office, district administration, police administration, Muktijoddha Sangsad, district Awami League, BNP, Narail Municipality, Narail Press Club, district lawyers association and other organizations laid wreaths honouring the martyrs. Wreaths were also placed on behalf of the cultural organization and mass graves were visited. Narail Superintendent of Police Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Chairman of Narail District Council Adv, Sohrab Hossain Biswas, Superintendent of Police Prabir Kumar Roy, Civil Surgeon Dr Nasima Akter, Mayor of Narail Municipality Anjuman Ara, President of District Awami League Adv. Subash Chandra Bose, Additional Superintendent of Police Reazul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Tanzila Siddique, freedom fighters, various politicians, news activists, lawyers and leaders of government and non-government organizations were present.
Besides, parade at Birshreshtha Nur Mohammad Stadium showcased various physical exercises of children. Reception of heroic freedom fighters, sports, discussion meetings, cultural programs, films on liberation war in different places, documentaries were shown and prayers were organized in mosques and temples.
In Nilphamari the Golden Jubilee of Independence and National Day was celebrated through various programs with due dignity. With the rising of the sun, the day got off to a good start with 31 rounds of artillery fire.
At 6 am, wreaths were laid at Swadhinata Amlan Nilphamari to pay homage to the souls of the great martyrs in accordance with social distance and hygiene rules.
Deputy Commissioner Hafizur Rahman Chowdhury placed the first wreath on behalf of his office.. Then Superintendent of Police Mokhlesur Rahman, District Council Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Joynal Abedin, Municipal Mayor Dewan Kamal Ahmed, Sadar Upazila Chairman Abuzar Rahman, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Elina Akhter, Muktijoddha Sangsad, Judiciary, District Health Department, District Awami League, Jatiya Party, BNP Including various political parties, organizations and educational institutions.
National flag was also hoisted in all government semi-government autonomous and private buildings as soon as the sun rises. Roads of the district town are decorated with colourful flags.
At 7 am, the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police officially hoisted the national flag at the Nilphamari High School ground and received salutations and greetings from various organizations. Later the heroic freedom fighters were showered with flowers.
Sports programs for students of different schools and colleges were held at the same place. Documentary film screenings for students, high quality food are served in nomadic institutions including prisons, hospitals, orphanages.
Apart from this, special prayers are offered in the mosques and special prayers were offered in temples, pagodas, churches and other places of worship seeking peace, prosperity and progress for the nation. A traditional lathi game and a football game was held at the Government High School ground at around 3 pm.
In the afternoon, a discussion meeting and cultural program on the universal use of digital technology for the liberation war, independence and building a happy and prosperous Bangladesh was held at the local Shilpakala Auditorium. On the other hand, similar programs were held in Domar, Dimla, Jaldhaka, Kishoriganj and Syedpur upazilas of the district.
On the occasion of the day, a reception was given to the freedom fighters, war-wounded freedom fighters and family members of the martyred freedom fighters at the Muktijoddha Complex auditorium of the district town at 2 pm. Crests, garments were distributed and lunch was served among the helpless freedom fighters and family members of the martyrs.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Azharul Islam was the chief guest at the presidency. Hafizur Rahman Chowdhury.
In Joypurhat Independence Day and National Day was celebrated with due dignity. As soon as the sun rose on Friday, a wreath was laid at the Shaheed Dr Abul Kashem Maidan in the city by the district administration.
On the occasion of the day, Deputy Commissioner Shariful Islam laid a wreath at the memorial of the liberation war, Joypurhat-1 MP Adv. Shamsul Alam Dudu, District Superintendent of Police Mashum Ahmed Bhuiyan, District Council Chairman and District A'League President Ariful Rahman Rocket, Sadar Upazila Chairman SM Solaiman Ali, Muktijoddha Command, District Awami League and various government and non-government, educational, socio-cultural and political organizations and Institution.
Besides, various government and non-government organizations are carrying out various programs in the district throughout the day.
In Feni the Golden Jubilee of Independence was celebrated with due dignity. At the beginning of the day, Feni celebrated the great Independence and National Day with 50 rounds of artillery fire at sunrise.
This time the event has been limited due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. People from different walks of life including district administration, police administration, Muktijoddha Sangsad, Awami League BNP and various political, social, cultural, government, semi-government and non-government organizations laid wreaths at the Independence Memorial to pay homage to the martyrs.
Acting Deputy Commissioner of Feni Dr Mohammad Manjurul Islam, Superintendent of Police Khandaker Nurunnabi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Golam Zakaria and others laid wreaths.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of independence, the district administration has undertaken various programs. In the morning, various programs including parade and physical exercise exhibition, liberation war based discussion meeting, milad mahfil and sports were held at Shaheed Salam Stadium. Honours were given to the freedom fighters on the initiative of the district administration.
In Cumilla the Golden Jubilee of Independence and National Day-2021 was celebrated with due dignity in Comilla. On the occasion of the day, a wreath was laid at the central Shaheed Minar in the Town Hall ground at Kandirpara, Comilla. Thirty-one artillery shells were fired at that time.
Cumilla reserved women's seat MP Anjum Sultana Seema, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Superintendent of Police Faruk Ahmed, District Council Chairman Abu Taher and other senior officials of the district administration and police administration laid wreaths at the Shaheed Bedi.
Later, wreaths were laid one by one on behalf of political, social, cultural, government, private and various educational institutions.
On the occasion of the day, various programs have been organised in all the upazilas of Cumilla district.
