Four bills placed before the House
Four bills, including Kurigram Agricultural University Bill, 2021, were placed before the House with Parliament Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair Tuesday. Other bills are Bangladesh Children's Hospital and Institute Bill- 2021, Medical Degrees (Repel) Bill, 2021 and Medical College Governing Bodies (Repel) Bill, 2021.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni placed the kurigram Agricultural University Bill- 2021 while three others bills were raised by Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque.
The Kurigram Agricultural University Bill-2021 proposed necessary provisions for maintaining harmony and equality with the advanced world in the field of science and technology, providing advanced education in agricultural science at the national level, expanding research, innovation and technology education.
The House sent the bill to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Education for scrutiny and asked to submit its report before the House within one month.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Children's Hospital and Institute Bill-2021 proposed for bringing the existing Dhaka Children's Hospital and its affiliated Bangladesh Child Health Unit under a legal framework.
The bill was sent to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for scrutiny and report to Parliament within the next seven days.
Besides, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting today submitted its report on the Bangladesh Film Welfare Trust Bill, 2021 before the Parliament today. Committee Chairman Hasanul Haq Inu submitted the report.
