Fishy e-commerce entities to face action

All e-commerce organisations cheating customers will face action in line with arrest of Evaly bosses, said additional commissioner (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police AKM Hafiz Akhter.

He came up with the remarks at a press conference at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)’s media centre on Saturday.

Many organisations like Evaly and E-orange are exploiting customers. They are offering goods at cheaper price, taking money in advance and finally not giving the products, he said.   

If the delinquent e-commerce bosses are arrested, the customers will get rid of the exploitation, he opined.    

On Thursday, Evaly Chairman Shamima Nasrin and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mohammad Russel were arrested from their Mohammadpur residence. A Dhaka court placed them on remand for three days after police produced them before it the following day.
