Financial institutions will run on a new schedule after Eid
Bangladesh Bank has ordered the operation of financial institutions from Eid in keeping with the timing of banks and government offices. The central bank has issued instructions in this regard to the managing directors and chief executive officers of all financial institutions operating in the country.
Bangladesh Bank's Department of Financial Institutions and Markets (DFIM) has informed this information in a circular on Wednesday (June 12).
It is said that in the new schedule, from June 19, the offices of financial institutions will open at 10 a.m., which will continue until 6 p.m. and there will be weekend holidays on Fridays and Saturdays. The activities of the financial institutions will be conducted as per the new schedule from June 19 till further instructions in accordance with the office schedule announced by the government. These instructions have been issued under the powers conferred by Section 41(2)(d) of the Finance Companies Act, 2023.
At present, the financial institution's office functions are open from 10 am to 5 pm.
