Export earnings will not decrease but will increase than before: Trade Advisor
Finance and Trade Advisor to the Interim Government Salehuddin Ahmed has assured that there is no possibility of decrease in export earnings. He said, the situation has changed. Because of this, the export income will not decrease from before but will increase. America will also have a positive view from all sides.
He said this in response to a question from journalists after the 59th board meeting of the 146th Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute of the Export Development Bureau (EPB) in the meeting room of the Ministry of Commerce at the secretariat on Sunday (September 8).
The Finance and Commerce Adviser told reporters that there were some informational issues regarding exports. We have discussed these. We will keep all of the information we collect. We will combine all to give the true picture. One person will give the same information, that will not happen. There are some differences, admittedly. The great inconsistency will be removed.
He said, the export target will be reasonable. There are various components to export, I will look at them. There are different products, I will look into them. And we will review the regulatory and tax related obstacles in the field of export. Our aim is to diversify exports.
Salehuddin Ahmed also said, we accept that export growth will be fairly good. The situation has changed, so it will not be less than before, it will be more than before.
At this time, when asked what the growth of export income can be in the current financial year, the advisor said, this time the target of growth of export income has been set at 12.4 percent.
In response to the question whether the GSP facility will be available in America or not, he said that they have already been told for the GSP facility. We will try again. We hope America will look positively at us from all sides. Hence GSP is positive. We are talking to others about exports.
