Mymensingh City Corporation Mayor Md. Ikramul Haque Titu said that Bangabandhu was a defendant from his childhood. Gradually he was able to become the father of the nation because family, society played a helpful role in his development. In the same way, in the case of Hon'ble Prime Minister too, family and society have been instrumental in proper development, so today she has been able to make Bangladesh a place of glory on the world stage. Therefore, everyone must play an active role in the development of the children.

The mayor said this while addressing a discussion, prayer and milad mahfil virtually organized by Mymensingh City Corporation on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth anniversary and National Children's Day 2022 at Shaheed Shahabuddin Auditorium at 11:30 am on Thursday.

Giving good news to the city dwellers, the mayor said that the park proposed by Mymensingh City Corporation in the name of Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of the father of the nation, is on the verge of approval. The park will meet the entertainment needs of children in Mymensingh and surrounding areas.

He further said that Mymensingh City Corporation has been organizing various competitions regularly for the development of children. Moreover, various initiatives including running two schools for marginalized children are ongoing.

Addressing the councilors present, he said that every ward should be made child friendly. The safety of the child must be ensured. We need to not only think of the voters but also ensure the advancement of women, children and the underprivileged.

Yusuf Ali, Asif Hossain Don, Panel Mayor (1), Samima Akhter, Panel Mayor (3) and other councilors, Secretary Rajib Kumar Sarkar, Chief Store and Purchasing Officer Annapurna Debnath, Public Relations Officer Sheikh Mahabul Hossain, Executive Engineer Md. Zahur. Haque spoke. Councilors, Chief Revenue Officer Senjuti Dhar, Regional Executive Officer Rafiquzzaman and other officials, employees, journalists of print and electronic media were present on the occasion.
