Ekushey Padak winning actor SM Mohsin passed away


Veteran Ekushey Padak winning actor SM Mohsin has died of coronavirus. He died at Bardem General Hospital in the capital at 9:30 am on Sunday, his younger son Rashek Mohsin said. Rashed Mohsin said, “My father's lungs were severely damaged after he was infected with the coronavirus. He was taken to the ICU due to his deteriorating condition. ”

He was first admitted to Holy Family Hospital in the capital after being diagnosed with the coronavirus. He was later shifted to Ispalse Hospital as his condition deteriorated. Mohsin was taken to Bardem Hospital from there a week ago.

SM Mohsin has performed on stage and television for more than for four decades. The government awarded the Ekushey Padak in 2020 for his significant contribution in acting. For a long time he has been the director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

He has served as a member of the Faculty of Natok O Nattototto at Jahangirnagar University. He Was involved as the first project director of the National Theater.

He got a different identity from the viewers of the TV drama by acting in the play 'Gorom Vat Othoba Nichok Vuter Golpo' directed by Animesh Aich. He has also acted in several plays including ‘Meher Ali’ and ‘Sakin Sarisuri’.

He has acted in several plays including 'Kabar' and 'Subchan Nirbasane'. Rashek Mohsin said SM Mohsin will be buried at Azimpur Cemetery after Janazah at Paribagh Mosque after Asar.
