Durgotsavam ends with the ablution of idols
The sound of sadness in the pavilion, the occasion of sadness in the house. Because, the biggest festival of Sanatan Dharma followers, Sharadiya Durga Puja, is ending today with the sacrifice of idols.
According to Hindu belief, Devi Durga leaves Kailash and comes to mortal world as a daughter every autumn. Between his 'arrivals and departures' Durgotsava lasts for five days from the sixth to the tenth tithi of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Ashwin.
Hindus say that the music of Dhak-Kansar, Aarti that brightens the night, worship of worshipers and devotees only speak about the departure of Goddess Durga today. Biding farewell to the goddess with tearful eyes will have to wait another year for this festival.
They also said that Durga Puja traditionally ends on Saturday. However, other formalities including idol worship, vermilion game will end today.
It has been reported that idols will be buried on Vijaya Dashami along with local arrangements and Vijaya processions at convenient times across the country. Devotees will take Shantijal after ablution everywhere.
Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has adopted special security plans to make the Vijaya Shobhayatra festive and smooth. Dog squad, bomb disposal unit, crime scene and SWAT team are ready.

Road-Mansi Hall Crossing-Rathkhola Crossing-Raisaheb Bazar Crossing-Shankharibazar-Jagannath University-Sadarghat Bata Crossing-Patuatuli Crossing/Sadarghat Terminal Crossing will end at Wiseghat.
Today is a public holiday on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami. Satellite televisions including Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar are broadcasting special programs. Apart from this, special issues and articles have been published in the newspaper. Besides, on the occasion of Sharidiya Durgotsava and Vijaya Dashami, President Md. Sahabuddin will exchange greetings with Hindu community leaders.
