Donald Lu will come to Dhaka via Delhi on Saturday
A six-member delegation led by US Department of Revenue Deputy Under Secretary Brent Neyman is arriving in Bangladesh on a three-day visit on Saturday (September 13). Apart from this, the delegation includes US State Department Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia Donald Lu and USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator for Asia Anjali Kaur.
Foreign Secretary Md. Jasim Uddin gave this information in response to questions from journalists on Thursday (September 12) evening.
When asked about the discussion with the US delegation, Foreign Secretary Md. Jasim Uddin said that the US delegation is coming to Dhaka after the interim government took over. This is a great reflection of the importance that the United States attaches to the relationship with Bangladesh.
The discussion will focus on the strengthening of relations with Bangladesh after the change in the political status of the student uprising. Apart from this, Washington will want to know the needs of Bangladesh to overcome the current crisis so that Bangladesh can turn around.
But Donald Lu is coming to Dhaka via Delhi. He will jointly chair the Washington-Delhi Intersessional Defense Dialogue. In this meeting, besides the bilateral issues of the United States and India, Bangladesh will be important in the discussion.
