Development activities need to be sustainable: Mayor Titu
The Mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation Md. Ikramul Haque Titu has said that maximum efforts should be made to keep the people well by overcoming all the limitations. On April 19, the Prime Minister gave a project worth Tk 122 crore to build a metropolitan city. This project will take Mymensingh City much further in waste management. However, care must be taken to ensure that development activities are sustainable.
Ikramul Haque Titu, the enviable popular leader of Mymensingh Awami League, said this while addressing an Eid reunion and exchange of greetings program organized by Mymensingh City Corporation at Shaheed Shahabuddin Auditorium in the city on Saturday.
The mayor said the proposals for Mymensingh City Corporation's 18-storey city hall, Sheikh Russell Children's Park, new bus terminal and truck stand are expected to be approved soon. Artisan Titu, a visionary of building a digital city, said that this would lead to a massive development of the overall civic services of Mymensingh City Corporation. The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer Md. Yusuf Ali, Councilors, Secretary Rajiv Kumar Sarkar, Chief Store and Purchasing Officer Annapurna Debnath and other officials and employees of the city corporation.
