Democracy must be brought back through elections: Saleh Prince

BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Imran Saleh Prince said that democratic governance should be brought back through reforms and elections within a reasonable time by establishing close relations with political parties and class-professional organizations. The interim government should be vigilant so that there is no crisis of confidence and trust with the political parties.

He said these things in the speech of the chief guest in the discussion meeting with the leaders of Dhobaura Upazila of Mymensingh on Wednesday (September 25) noon.

In the meeting held at the party office at Dhobaura bus stand, he said that we are supporting the interim government. The success and failure of this government depends on the good and bad of the country. The interim government cannot be allowed to fail.

He also said that people have been struggling for voting rights and democracy for a long time. The autocratic Hasina government established a monopoly by destroying the electoral system. To do all this they destroyed the state structure. That is why state reform is also necessary. But it will not be logical to take long time in the name of reforming the state. There can be no alternative to vote reform.

Mymensingh North District BNP member Alhaj Mofiz Uddin also spoke in the exchange meeting, North District BNP member Professor Azharul Islam Kajal, Upazila BNP Leader Habibur Rahman, District Jubo Dal Vice President Abul Kashem Dollar, Joint Organizing Secretary Aminul Islam, District Volunteers Joint Convener Delwar Hossain, District Chhatra Dal Joint Secretary Farooq Hossain, Upazila Chhatra Dal Convener Jalal Uddin, Member Secretary Saiful Islam Palash and other leaders and activists of BNP and affiliated organizations.
