Chinese citizen dies during brawl with fellow worker in Sylhet

A Chinese citizen has died today during a fight with another Chinese worker in Pathantoli area of Sylhet city. 

The deceased was identified as Wentao Wei, 48. He worked in a power plant in Kumargaon of Sylhet hailing from Shanxi province of China.

Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Sylhet Metropolitan Police's Additional Deputy Commissioner BM Ashraf Ullah said, "Twelve Chinese citizens reside in a flat in West Pathantoli area. They work at a power plant."

"Wentao was stabbed to death during a fight with another Chinese worker on Tuesday morning," he added.

Kotwali Police Station's Officer-in-Charge Abu Farhad said, "The body has been sent to Osmani Medical College Hospital. A Chinese worker has been arrested on charge of the murder. He also sustained injuries during the fight."

No case was filed yet over the incident as of filing of this report at 3:15pm.
