Popular TV actor Pearl V Puri was arrested on Friday (June 4) night in connection with the rape case of a minor. He was arrested in Vasai in Mumbai after a complaint was filed by the victim along with her mother. Soon after news of the arrest came to light, several TV celebrities including Ekta Kapoor, Hina Khan, Nia Sharma, Aly Goni, and many more extended unwavering support to the actor.

The news of Pearl V Puri clearly came as a shock to the industry as Saturday morning saw a wave of support for the actor who was arrested for allegedly raping a minor. Many expressed that he is being falsely accused. However, on Saturday afternoon, he was sent to a 14-day judicial custody post a court hearing.

Karishma Tanna had also posted a picture with Puri on Saturday afternoon and said that he got bail. However, that turned out to be false. Various other celebrities wrote in favour of the Naagin actor including his co-stars. Actor Nia Sharma wrote on Instagram, "Rape is not a joke, no excuse, no means to come at someone to satisfy a bruised ego. Rape and molestation stories are terrifying and far beyond imagination in India. The real victims die, their stories go unheard, their families are waiting for justice all their lives. Do not belittle them. Do not make a mockery of it. Rape allegations cannot fu**ing be used at will. It Cannot. It should not. @pearlvpuri sorry it happened to you."

Actor Surbhi Jyoti tweeted, "I have worked with him. I know him very well. He is a very nice and humble human being. I stand with him. #istandwithpearl #letthetruthprevail @pearlvpuri." Aly Goni said that he is the sweetest guy and said that the news cannot be true. On similar lines, Hina Khan too took to her Instagram stories and said that he is one of the kindest souls.

"I know @pearlvpuri and he is one of the nicest boys I’ve met in our tv industry. A thorough gentleman. Please don’t jump to conclusions on baseless allegations. Let’s wait for the truth to come out. #istandwithpearl #PearlVPuri," said actor Krystle D'Souza on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor posted a long note where she claimed to have spoken to the victim's mother who confirmed Pearl's innocence and that it is a story made up by the victim's father to win a custody battle.
