Budget will be amended, no chance of black money generation: finance advisor

The budget will be amended, but black money will not be allowed to be created, said Saleh Uddin Ahmed, Finance Advisor of the Interim Government.

He said this after a meeting with the United Nations representatives at the NEC conference room in the capital's Sher Bangla Nagar on Sunday (August 25).

Saleh Uddin Ahmed said, 'money smuggled abroad will be brought back. Bangladesh Bank is working on this. A single decision cannot be taken on the budget. Proposals are coming from many quarters so the budget will be revised. But black money will not be allowed to be created.'

He said, 'I will choose foreign loans, the debt burden is increasing. US and UN give us grants, they will be taken. A one-year project takes five years - foreign loans will not be taken for such projects.'

Regarding the meeting with the representatives of the United Nations, the financial advisor said, '41 organizations of the United Nations have met. They will be by our side in our economic, equality based development. I listened to their suggestions. I will increase equality and sustainable development. Attention should be given to the Rohingyas to settle the Rohingyas in their own land.'

He also said, 'We are working on how to collect rice. Working on women's health and nutrition. I will work with flood damage.'

Regarding the agitation in Dhaka city, the advisor said, 'I cannot ignore those who are agitating. Those who are protesting in the field are in pain. Until now no one dared to say. Trying to solve the problem that our government is not too old. We are concerned about those who are being discriminated against.'
