Boy killed in dispute over playing mobile phone games


A boy named Rakib (18) was stabbed to death in Enayetpur village of Jessore Sadar Upazila. The incident took place at Eidgah ground of Enayetpur village around 9.15 pm on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Rakib, son of Hafizul Islam of Enayetpur village under Jessore Sadar Upazila.

According to police and local sources, Rakib and some others of the same age were playing games on their mobile phones at Eidgah ground in Enayetpur village last night. Suddenly Sohan had a fight with Rakib. At one stage, Sohan (20) took out a knife and put it in Rakib's stomach. Locals rushed Rakib to Jessore General Hospital in critical condition. The emergency unit doctor declared him dead.

In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jessore Kotwali Police Station Tajul Islam said, there was a problem between two people of the same age for playing games on mobile phones. At one stage, a young man named Sohan stabbed Rakib in the stomach. Rakib died instantly. There will be a case in this regard.
