BD-Japan firms discuss investment prospects


In a bid to attract more Japanese investment, Bangladeshi companies have started interaction with Japanese investors online to introduce their company by their own for partnership with the participating Japanese firms.

Through on-line business matching event between Bangladeshi companies and Japanese firms that began on May 24, 2021, thirty leading Bangladeshi companies are going to participate in the programme. 

Bangladeshi companies will interact in over 309 B2B meetings with the Japanese firms during the 17 days long programme that will continue till June 11, 2021, said a statement issued by the Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JBCCI). 

United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), Tokyo has organised the programme with the support of Bangladesh Embassy in Japan and JBCCI. HAISON International, an investor advisory firm of Bangladesh is coordinating the programme.

Bangladeshi companies will discuss prospects for setting up partnership with the Japanese companies in the areas of infrastructure, real estate, construction, special economic zone, container terminal, logistics, freight forwarding, cargo ship, dredging, plastic recycling, auto parts, renewables energy, home appliances,  leasing of industrial land & building, internet services, IT engineering, health services, medical devices, chemicals, textiles  & specialised apparels, business support, audit, accounting & taxation, general insurance, food and agro processing.
