BD artistes nominated for Bangla Filmfare Awards


The prestigious Joy Filmfare Awards (Bangla) are set to be held in Kolkata for the fifth time, on March 17. Several Bangladeshi artistes have been nominated for the awards this year. 

Mosharraf Karim has been nominated in the category of Best Actor (Critics) for his performance in the Bratya Basu directorial, "Dictionary". This is the first time that the actor has received a nomination for a popular and prestigious award in India. 

Meanwhile, Jaya Ahsan has received nominations in the Best Actress (Popular) and Best Actress (Critics) categories for her role in the movie,  `Binisuto’, directed by Atanu Ghosh. She previously won the Joy Filmfare Award (Bangla) for Best Actress (Critics) for the films, `Bijoya’ and `Robibar’. 

Jaya had also won the Best Actress award in the 2018 iteration of the event, for her role in `Bishorjon’.

Celebrated lyricist Asif Iqbal has been nominated for writing the song, `Mayar Kangal’ in the movie, `Olpo Holeo Sotti’, while young singer Mahtim Shakib has been nominated in the Best Playback Singer (Male) category for the song `Take Alpo Kache Dakchi’ in the movie, `Prem Tem’. 

These are the first Filmfare Award nominations for both of them.
