BCL factions clash at Chattogram Medical College

Two groups of Bangladesh Chatra League (BCL) activists clashed at a dormitory of Chattogram Medical College (CMC) on Tuesday.

The clash happened at Pradhan Chhatrabash around 2:30pm over establishing supremacy at the dorm, said Raisul Islam, assistant commissioner (Chawkbazar zone) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP).

A chase and counter-chase ensued between the two BCL groups, said the police official, our chattogram correspondent reports.

On information, a police team rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, said AC Raisul Islam, adding that there were no injuries or arrests over the incident.

Additional policemen were deployed in front of the hostel to avoid further incidents, he added.

Quoting witnesses, our Chattogram photojournalist said three-four rooms were vandalized during the clash.
