The court granted a 5-day remand to former member of parliament Barrister Syed Syedul Haque Sumon in the case of attempted murder of Jubo Dal leader and Mirpur's Bangaliana Bhoj assistant cook Hriday Mia.

Barrister Suman is also an accused in the Rubel murder case of capital's Adabar police station and an attempt to murder case in Habiganj's Chunarughat police station.

The other accused Kabir Mia Khandkar started beating the plaintiff severely with a rod. He was seriously injured. Besides, the other accused also beat up the protesting students with weapons.

This lawyer, discussed by the Supreme Court, did not even seek the nomination of Awami League in the 12th parliamentary elections. However, barrister Sayedul Haque Sumon was elected as a Member of Parliament for the first time from Habiganj-4 (Chunarughat-Madhavpur) constituency after defeating Awami League candidate Mahbub Ali. After the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on August 5, the President dissolved the parliament. He lost his position as a member of parliament.
