Bangladesh's glorious participation in the International Economic Olympiad

A five-member student team from Bangladesh has been selected to participate in the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2026 to be held in China. These students, selected through a multi-stage selection process from various educational institutions in the country, will represent Bangladesh in this international competition. This information was given at a press conference organized at the National Press Club on June 22. At the event, the organizers said that the Bangladesh Economics Olympiad has been working for a long time to develop knowledge, analytical skills and policy-making thinking among the youth in economics. In that vein, talented students at the national level have been selected for the international competition. At the press conference, Bangladesh Economics Olympiad brand ambassador and media personality Md. Mansurul Haque said that the International Economics Olympiad is not just a competition, it is an important platform for young economists worldwide to showcase their skills and thinking. He expressed hope that Bangladeshi students will further enhance the country's image in the international arena through their talent, hard work and creative analytical skills. Al Amin Parvez, President of the Executive Committee of Bangladesh Economics Olympiad, said that the importance of economic knowledge and policy analysis skills is increasing in the current world. One of the goals of the organization is to make the young generation interested in economics and encourage them to think about solutions to practical economic problems. He also mentioned that participation in the international Olympiad will further advance that effort.
At the event, Bangladesh Economics Olympiad Chairman and eminent economist Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman said that by participating in the global competition, students will not only get the opportunity to gain knowledge, but will also be able to showcase the capabilities and potential of Bangladeshi youth in the international arena. According to him, such events play an important role in creating skilled economists and policymakers of the future.
Farabid bin Faisal, Fariha Tasnim, Zaif bin Morshed, Prant Ghosh and Faiyad Salehin Ahmed will represent Bangladesh in the International Economics Olympiad 2026 to be held in China. The organizers hope that the students will bring glorious success to the country on this international stage.
