Bangladesh reports 91 Covid deaths, 4,559 new cases
Bangladesh logged 91 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, pushing the tally to 10,588 in the country.
The death toll dropped today after a record number of deaths per day over the last four days with more than 100 fatalities.
The country saw a sharp rise in Covid deaths yesterday, with 112 people dying from the virus in 24 hours which was the highest since the pandemic hit the country last year.
Meanwhile, the country reported 4,559 new cases with an infection rate of 16.85%. However, the total caseload stands at 7,27,780 in the country.
The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March that year.
India recorded 2,59,170 fresh infections and 1,761 deaths in a new record high, taking the caseload to 1.53 crore; 1.8 lakh people have died so far, reports NDTV.
India has the second-highest number of cases after the United States.
Worldwide, 3,046,086 people died of the virus and 142,803,194 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
