Bangladesh Football Team to play 3 friendlies in Kyrgyzstan
After Bangladesh descended to 188 in the Fifa ranking recently, the Bangladesh Football Federation is arranging some international friendly matches during the next Fifa window, ahead of the Saff Championship.
The regional tournament is scheduled to take place from October 1 to 13 in Maldives and BFF has organized three friendlies in Kyrgyzstan.
The first match will take place on September 5 against Palestine.
The second will be held on September 7 against the Kyrgyz national side before the men in red and green take on Kyrgyzstan U-23 on September 9.
Bangladesh are supposed to leave for Maldives on September 27 or 28 after 10 days' practice at home.
“There are some Fifa windows in the next months. We want to utilize them. We will play three games in Kyrgyzstan. By Monday we will get recognition from Fifa. We will play them as preparation for Saff,” said Kazi Nabil Ahmed, the chairman of the national team committee and vice-president of BFF.
Nabil also hoped that Bangladesh will do well in Saff as the tournament will be held in round robin league format this time. The practice matches, he believes, will also boost the side.
After completing the Saff tournament, Bangladesh U-23 will take part in AFC U-23 qualifying round matches along with hosts Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan.
BFF is hoping to arrange two friendlies in the November Fifa window. Mongolia and Nepal maybe the probable opponents.
