Bangabandhu issued 35 new directives


On this day, the activities of Swadhin Bangla Chhatra Sangram Parishad were intensified. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman announced a new program to conduct the movement and issued 35 new directives.

Bangabandhu had a meeting with NAP leader Abdul Wali Khan at his residence. National League leader Ataur Rahman Khan again called on Bangabandhu to form an interim government. Meetings and rallies were held in Dhaka at the initiative of various political parties and student-workers-professional organizations and young women, social and cultural organizations demanding acceptance of Bangabandhu's 4-point precondition on the question of joining the National Assembly session.

In support of Bangabandhu's non-cooperation movement, a petition was handed over to Bangabandhu at his residence after a rally at Baitul Mukarram premises in the morning on the initiative of Newspaper Press Employees Federation. In it, the leaders pledged to abide by any directive and requested Bangabandhu to form a national government immediately and declare an independent sovereign Bangladesh.

 A public meeting was held at Nishat Park in Karachi on the initiative of the People's Party. Civil servants of the Defense Department staged a demonstration in the city in protest of Military Order No. 115. Later they went to Bangabandhu's residence in Dhanmondi and met him and declared their solidarity with the present movement.
