Ananta Jalil visits Notre Dame University

Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) welcomed Ananta Jalil and Barsha Jalil Tuesday. The event was organised as part of the ongoing promotions for Ananta Jalil's upcoming movie ‘Din: The Day’.

The programme was opened with a small cultural dance performance by Catherina Stuti, a student of the English Department and a member of Notre Dame's Cultural Club.

"With much appreciation, we welcome Ananta Jalil and his wife Barsha Jalil among us today," said Sourav Palma, Lecturer of the English Department and co-moderator of Cultural Club, NDUB.

"As we all know, 'Din: The Day' is a mega film that will be coming out this Eid and this movie has used some of the most modern cinematographic technology to ensure viewers have an amazing experience," said Palma. The lecturer then sang "Jodi Tor Dak Shune Keu Na Ashe Tobe Ekla Cholo Re" as a tribute to the megastar for elevating the Bangladeshi film industry.

Right afterwards, the audience enjoyed a behind-the-scenes clip from ‘Din: The Day’, followed by the trailer of the movie.

‘I am sure everyone is wondering what the title of the film means’, said Father Patrick Gaffney CSC, Vice-Chancellor, NDUB. "What day does it refer to? Is it today? I guess will have to wait and find out."

‘I am very grateful for the warm welcome from both the students and teachers of NDUB’, said Barsha Jalil, who also plays the female lead in "Din: The Day". "Today's trailer was specially made for all of you. Seeing you guys so excited, energetic, and supportive of us, really makes our hard work worth it."

‘Just as Barsha expressed, I am also grateful for the enthusiasm and support from NDUB’, said Ananta Jalil, adding, "NDUB's campus might be small, but the love and appreciation we received today is priceless."

‘I love you NDUB, and would like to stand beside NDUB in the same way all of you supported me today’, concluded Ananta Jalil, bringing the programme to an end.
