Salam Murshedy resigns as BFF vice-president

Former national striker Abdus Salam Murshedy Thursday resigned from Bangladesh Football Federation as the senior vice-president, the post he has served since 2008 for four terms.

Murshedy, who was former ruling party Awami League’s Member of Parliament, also resigned as chairman of BFF finance committee and referees’ committee, a press release from the federation informed.

Earlier on May 23, world football governing body FIFA fined Murshedy as he was ordered to pay a fine amounting to CHF 10,000.

Murshedy was elected as senior VP for four consecutive times.

He was the unopposed candidate in 2016 and defeated former football superstar Sheikh Mohammad Aslam during the last 2020 BFF Election.
