Nepal To Export 40 MW Power Supply to Bangladesh Soon
Bangladesh has responded export of power supply from Nepal using Indian territory. As a result, Nepal will soon export 40 MW of electricity to Bangladesh.
Indian media 'The Print' reported this information on Saturday (November 9).
According to reports, Nepal's Energy and Water Resources Minister Deepak Kharka recently visited India and met India's Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Water Resources Minister C R Patil. Apart from various discussions, there was also a discussion about the use of India's electricity supply infrastructure in the case of electricity export to Bangladesh. After visiting India, Deepak Kharka said this to the journalists.
Deepak Kharka said that according to the tripartite agreement, Nepal will export 40 MW of electricity to Bangladesh. For this, they have asked for permission to use India's transmission lines. From July 15 to November 15, Nepal will export 40 MW of electricity through India. In this case, Kathmandu will have to get permission from Delhi to export electricity through transmission lines.
The Indian side has taken Nepal's request positively and has assured permission soon, Deepak Kharka said.
Incidentally, six years after the agreement on energy cooperation, Bangladesh signed an agreement between the three countries on October 3 to import 40 MW of electricity from Nepal through Indian territory.
