Later, he inaugurated the tree plantation program organized in the madrasa premises and auspiciously unveiled the colorful wall paintings published by the students on their own initiative.
In his speech as the chief guest at the event, Assistant Controller of Examinations Mr. Md. Murad Hossain said, the main aim of establishing Islamic Arabic University was to modernize Madrasa education in Bangladesh and to achieve an effective coordination between general and Islamic education. Although the foundation stone of this university was laid in Kushtia in 1979, it started its journey independently in 2013 after going through long ups and downs. Our main objective is to create a skilled human resource who will be enlightened in the knowledge of the Holy Quran and at the same time be skilled in information technology and dedicate themselves to the service of the country and the nation.
Under the leadership of Honorable Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Zafar Khan, Islamic Arabic University has currently taken multifaceted initiatives to improve the quality of Madrasa education. We do not want to be limited to just issuing certificates. We have launched 'One Stop Service' to speed up the administrative and academic work of Madrasa students. Special training is being organized for teachers to improve their skills in Arabic and modern teaching techniques.
In addition, the process of formulating an academic calendar for the speedy publication of Fazil and Kamil level results and bringing full automation in examination management is underway. Our goal is to build a 'smart university' where students will receive fast, transparent and quality services.
He also said that the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has called upon students to participate in tree planting to meet the target of planting 250 million trees in the next 5 years nationwide.
The meeting, chaired by Madrasa Principal Md. Zahidul Islam, was attended by Governing Body President Md. Mujibur Rahman, Vice President Md. Abdul Halim Bhuiyan and Vice Principal Md. Abdul Hai, along with other members of the Board of Directors, local stakeholders, teachers, students and guardians.
The speakers at the meeting placed special emphasis on modernizing madrasa education, maintaining institutional discipline, and improving the learning environment.
