3 people died due to lightning in Chapainawabganj

Three people died due to lightning in Shibganj and Bholahat of Chapainawabganj.

 The casualty occurred on Friday (June 7) between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m. when lightning struck during a storm.

It is known that two children died in Shibganj upazila and one died in Bholahat.

Shibganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sajjad Hossain confirmed the truth of the matter.

He said, Bobby Bhakat (32), wife of Subhas Bhakat of Alidanga Mohalla of Shibganj Municipality while picking mangoes and Kavita Khatun (8), daughter of Ershad Ali of Dakshin Panka Nishipara of Panka Union of Shibganj Upazila, died due to lightning while fetching water from the tube well.

On the other hand, Suman Kumar, OC of Bholahat police station, said, 'Amena Khatun (10), daughter of Islam Ali of Andipur of Bholahat upazila, was seriously injured by lightning while picking mangoes in the mango garden next to her house, after which she was brought to the upazila health complex and the doctor declared her dead.'
